Today was the first day of Japanese class at work!
My instructor Masa is hilarious. Very laid back, great sense of humor and very informative. Class is going to be fun. There are only four of us, I’m so lucky to be learning in an intimate environment. He think I can move up to the intermediate level since I “learned” Japanese when I was an exchange student. He think it will come back to me and since they are only 10 classes ahead of my current class, he thinks it will be fine. He suggested I try moving up and see what happens. I’m not too sure though, I haven’t used Japanese in 10 years. That’s a pretty big gap in learning!
I feel really lucky that I landed a job where they see the importance of learning Japanese (remember, it’s a Japanese company) and encourage it. I also am taking a Hiragana/Katakana class (Japanese writing) which starts tomorrow. I’m such a nerd, but I love it!
Also, I was interviewed for an article that comes out tomorrow. I’ll keep the subject and publication a surprise until tomorrow, but I will say it was so nice to give an interview not related to work or a project!
