So I decided quite some time ago I wasn’t loving the east coast anymore. I had always wanted to live in California, and once I visited the Bay area for an interview, I fell in love. There was no question San Francisco is where I need to be.
So that was that.
I decided to head out, unsure how fast I could really pull it all together. I didn’t want to sign a 12 month lease for an apartment without seeing the place, complex/building, area, where stores were, etc. sight unseen. I figured, find a temporary place and get acclimated and then find something more permanent. I lucked out finding a furnished sublet in Sunset that was available ASAP and was a fabulous price. It was the first place I contacted and it was a done deal in 24 hours. It was amazing how it all came together.
I’m leaving some stuff in storage, to be retrieved or shipped eventually. I have gotten rid of most of my furniture anyways, so really not much is left. Its mostly boxes of kitchenware, CDs, DVDs, books and vinyl. And I never really unpacked from the last move (I knew when I left Nashville to come back to DC it wouldn’t be long before I left again) so this has been the easiest move in my life.
Well, sans the driving 3000 miles.
